(Nashville, TN) -- Bolstered by an upcoming music video in conjunction with the Love 146 organization, The Wrecking's first national release, A NEW ABOLITION, will also be helped by the band's upcoming tour schedule. In addition to their current appearances on the One Shot Tour with hip hop artist Bobby Bishop, as well as summer festival appearances, The Wrecking is set to open shows for Jeremy Camp, Ten Shekel Shirt and EleventySeven this fall/winter.
The One Shot Tour has proven to be a major outreach to youth. According to Darren Elder, drummer for The Wrecking, over 450 young people have made decisions for Christ since the beginning of the year; over 150 in the New Orleans event alone. In late August, world-renowned speaker/author Josh McDowell will join the One Shot Tour near Boston, Massachusetts. To date, Josh has written or co-written 77 books on topics ranging from Christian apologetics to common problems facing youth. Among his most popular contributions on apologetics is "Evidence That Demands A Verdict," which he published in 1972 and was recognized by World Magazine as one of the century's top 40 books. Josh McDowell's radio show is heard on about 400 stations throughout the United States.
The Wrecking's MySpace page is currently experiencing 1200-1400 plays per day as they criss-cross the country doing tour dates as well as just completing a midwest radio tour. The Wrecking's new single "Inside" from A NEW ABOLITION is also featured on the Underground Sound Series. The new series features 15 of the "hottest up-and-coming acts in Christian music today." The Wrecking has already signed a licensing agreement with the MTV Network for the songs from A NEW ABOLITION to be placed on various shows and networks such as MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Spike tv, among others. Campus Target, an organization that sends college-age kids to various Asian college campuses to reach people for Christ, is using The Wrecking's song "The Deep" on a 90-second video that will be broadcast to approximately 80,000 people at Creation Northeast. Campus Target will continue to use the song as part of the main promotional video for their organization.
In addition to partnering with Love 146, The Wrecking also works with International Justice Mission, a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression.
